Jam & Cream cheese Stuffed French Toast
This recipe elevates classic French toast by adding a rich, creamy filling of sweetened cream cheese and luscious strawberry jam.
Ingredients
For the French Toast
8 slices of thick bread (such as brioche or challah)
4 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Butter or cooking spray, for cooking
For the Filling
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup Berry Medley jam (any flavor works)
Fresh strawberries, sliced (for garnish, optional)
Maple syrup, for serving
Instructions
1. Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese.
Gently fold in the strawberry jam until well combined. Set aside.
Chef’s Note: Don’t mix it completely to keep bits of jam visible
2. Make the French Toast
In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, and cinnamon until well combined.
Cut your bread of choice about 1 inch thick.
Butterfly the slice from the flat side while leaving the edges intact.
Spoon the filling into each slice.
Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt a tablespoon of butter or spray with cooking spray.
Dip each stuffed French toast sandwich into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are well coated but not soggy.
Place the dipped sandwiches onto the skillet or griddle and cook until golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Once cooked, transfer the stuffed French toast to serving plates. Garnish with fresh strawberry slices and a drizzle of maple syrup and enjoy!
